ACUTE CONCUSSION MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

A clinical history in relation to concussion along with baseline tests of memory, concentration and neurology

Baseline Testing

If any red flags present and know health professionals are present call ambulance

24-48 Hours of cognitive (including school) and physical rest

Call within 24-48 hour rest window for further instruction

The athlete follows an individualized return to school and return to play plan based on symptoms in relation to baseline and history.

If post concussion symptoms persist following 10-14 days the athlete is referred to a specialist based on presenting symptoms
