The following guidelines have been put in place by the Atlantic Provinces Athletic Therapy Association (APATA) and are waiting approval from the OHS and CMO. They must be adhered to if I am to help clients in the gym and clinic. Please be patient with me over the next few weeks as I implement them to the best of my ability for your safety and mine.

What to expect from booking to treatment?

Booking

As of right now I haven't booked anyone in. I will be reaching out to current clients as soon as guidelines have been approved and I am certain that I can treat safely in both of my current locations. Once previous clients are booked I will be opening to new clients. This will likely be June 8th, 2020.

The Client

1. You will be pre-screened using the symptoms checklist below at booking and again prior to entering the gym/treatment area.

2. Hand Hygiene: Hands must be washed upon arrival and before departure (minimum 20 seconds to elbow)

3. You will be expected to provide informed consent if physical distancing is not possible during treatment. As per usual if you are uncomfortable with any particular treatment method just let me know and I will discontinue and/or use an alternative.

4. If you answer yes to any of the symptoms you will not be seen. We can set up a virtual appointment. No cancellation fees will be charged.

5. As a client you are expected to wear a non-surgical mask throughout the session. I will also be wearing a mask.

Note:

  • Higher risk clients will be given first appointment of the day when possible.

  • A physician must clear those who have recovered from Covid-19 before first session.

6. Waiting areas will be marked and cleaned in between clients. Please do not come until 5 minutes prior to appointment. 15 minutes between clients will be allotted for cleaning high-touch areas.

As the Therapist

  • I will be using the symptoms self-assessment tool daily.

  • Hands will be washed between clients (hand washing is preferred over glove wearing, however I will have gloves available if the client wishes me to wear them).

  • I will be required to wear a mask when physical distancing cannot be practiced.
